Overheard

I was having a moment of snarky frusteration. (I am blushing.)

Michael was struggling with tying his shoes. We work on it, but it is pretty fine-motor, which can be a struggle. Plus, it was early in the morning and he was not very motivated.

So I asked, "Michael, am I going to have to come by your apartment when you're older and tie your shoes each day?"

And he replied, "Oh no. I'll live in a manor."

And he'll have servants to tie his shoes. So you won't need to come by every day.

LOL--I love it. I have to pass this on to Great grandma Rehart--she will love it!

Hmm, thinking of adults tying their shoes reminds me of Mr. Rogers. :)

I saw some cool looking tennis shoes at Walmart the other day. They weren't tie or velcro; instead they had elastic on one side of the tongue of the shoe so they could be slipped on. Kind of hard to explain, but I thought they were interesting. They were in all kinds of bright colors.

Your kids are hilarious! I LOVE this one...especially since Sam hates tying his shoes as well. I swear I've used that same line....
