So, I moved a bunch of files from my computer to my external hard drive, the same way that I do every month. But aparantly, I did something wrong. Because when I went back to get some off of it (after having deleted them from my computer...) they were all gone.
I am grateful for this blog, because at least I have some low-res versions. I also also glad I uploaded as large of pics as I could to the blog.
I am just sick. What a sad lesson to learn. :/

Oh that sucks! Jeremy and I were just talking the other day about downloading all our pics to backup discs....so when the hard drive crashes someday....
I hate learning things the hard way. Sigh. I feel for ya....
Oh man- sorry to hear that!
What about the recycle bin?
Nope, I am an efficent deleter. Usually, I do a great job of checking and double checking that they are indeed on the external. This time I did it at almost midnight. Major lesson learned.
:(
I also learned that the photorescue software only retrieves jpgs, tiffs, etc. Not RAW files. :(
We can give you our photos since you were SO smart to copy them to a CD for us. :)
I too have learned the perils of almost-midnight efficiency. Sigh.
I'm so sad for you!! :(
BTW - we're getting GREAT GREAT GREAT comments on our blog about your photos. You absolutely ROCK.
Oh I would SO appreciate that Kathryn. Then I would just be down to two photos I am ill over. Because, I figure, Christmas pictures never get printed big, and I have enough resolution from my blog to save those.
But there were two of Ella that I really wanted a little bigger...and sadly, I think that is not going to happen. But at least I have some lower resolution ones, right? Not a total loss...just a hard lesson.
We've just started paying for a service from Mozi. They back your files everyday for $40 a year...a think. It's totally worth it.
Sorry about your loss.
