The Utah Experience

So, one of my friend's mom and family is coming to Utah from Wisconsin in mid-August. They will be in Provo.

SO, assuming Provo is your homebase, my Utah friends (and alllllll of you who have lived in Utah, gone to school here, etc.), what things are parts of the Utah Experience you CANNOT miss? What restraunts? Museums? Outdoor or indoor venues?

A mix of things that scream UTAH! would be appreciated. Come on, help me out here. I won't mention my thoughts on this, so I don't bias anyone. But please post your favorite spots.

I spent quite a bit of time in Provo when Russ and I were dating. Our favorite restaurants were Brick Oven and Los Hermanos. I'll have to think longer to come up with anything else. Lately all we've visited in Provo is the DMV.

Rachel, I just love reading your blog (when I have a minute to sit down and do it)!!! You always have such fun and interesting things to say.

As for the "Utah Experience" I would say a few things come to mind...

Temple Square - obviously. My understanding is that at one of the buildings near the Family History Building has a GREAT place for kids to play and do a bunch of "activities." I can't remember the name of it - some kind of church museum, I think - but ask any of the Sister missionaries and they can tell you.

Gateway - taking the kids to play in the fountain with their swimsuits.

Trafalga, Boondocks, Seven Peaks, or Lagoon are fun, but expensive.

Park City is fun for shopping but not really for little kids.

Any canyon - go roast hot dogs and have smores and do a hike!

Well, there's a few for you. If you asked me tomorrow, I would probably come up with an entirely different list, but that's what's on the mind right now. :)
